Prince Harry Reveals That Cancer-Stricken King Charles Will Be His ‘Focus’ After Long-Awaited Reunion

Prince Harry is making headlines once again, but this time, it’s not for royal controversy. Instead, the Duke of Sussex is speaking from the heart about his father, King Charles, and revealing that his focus moving forward is squarely on his dad.
For years, the relationship between Harry and King Charles has been strained, following Harry and Meghan Markle’s decision to step back from royal duties in 2020. Their move to California, followed by Harry’s tell-all memoir “Spare,” created a deep rift between father and son that many believed would never heal.
With King Charles still undergoing cancer treatment, Prince Harry seems determined to let go of the past and place family at the forefront. On Sept. 10, 2025, the two reconnected during a meeting over “private tea” at Clarence House. This was their first face-to-face conversation in 20 months.
According to sources, the meeting lasted 55 minutes and provided both father and son with an opportunity to speak openly and reflectively. While brief, it was a deeply personal exchange that signaled a possible turning point in their relationship.
Royal watchers are hopeful this emotional moment could mark the beginning of reconciliation between the pair. For Prince Harry, who has often spoken about the challenges of balancing royal duty with personal identity, this new chapter represents something far more important than titles or traditions. It’s about healing, understanding, and rebuilding a connection with his father that has weathered years of distance and division.

Speaking with The Guardian, Harry shared that his goal for the “coming year” is to devote his attention to his father’s well-being. He said:
“The focus really has to be on my dad.”
The comment came just days after his short return to England, where he attended charity events before quietly reuniting with the King. When asked if he’d like to spend more time in the U.K. and bring his children, Archie and Lilibet, along one day, Harry didn’t hesitate: “Yes, I would,” he continued:
“This week has definitely brought that closer.”
After years of public distance and tension, Harry’s latest words suggest a shift, one driven not by duty, but by love and time. Following their reunion, Harry offered a glimpse into how his father is coping with his health challenges. According to The New York Post, when a royal watcher asked how the King was doing, the Duke of Sussex smiled and replied:
“He’s great, thank you.”
In his interview with The Guardian, Harry also spoke candidly about his 2023 memoir, “Spare,” which many believed deepened the rift within the royal family. However, the prince insisted that the memoir had been misunderstood. Prince Harry explained: “It was a series of corrections to stories already out there,” he continued: “One point of view had been put out, and it needed to be corrected.”
He added: “It was a difficult message, but I did it in the best way possible. My conscience is clear. It is not about revenge, it is about accountability.” Harry’s remarks come months after he told the BBC that he still hopes for reconciliation with his family, saying:
“I would love reconciliation with my family. I don’t know how much longer my father has.”
Despite everything, the Duke remains hopeful about mending those broken ties. This follows reports that Prince William had opposed the meeting, with the future King allegedly calling it “terrible.”
