Prince Harry Has Dropped His Royal Surname According To New Paperwork For His Eco-Tourism Initiative

Since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their desire to be independent from the royal family in January, a lot of changes have come into play. The couple's last official day as senior royals was March 31st.

It looks like one of the first things to happen post-royal life involves a name change for Harry. Documents he signed for an eco-tourism initiative did not have his HRH title on them and his royal surname had also been dropped.

According to the Daily Mail, Harry dropped his family name Mountbatten-Windsor when he registered with the eco-friendly tourism company called Travalyst. Harry is identified as "Prince Henry Charles Albert David, Duke of Sussex" in the documents.

There had been quite a lot of speculation in recent days about whether the couple would take on a new surname once they'd left. Their son, little Archie, still has the Mountbatten-Windsor surname on his birth certificate.

The initiative includes big name partners such as Booking.com, Skyscanner, Trip.com, TripAdvisor, and Visa. The aim of the group is to change the way people travel and to encourage more eco-responsibility in tourism. According to the Daily Mail, the firm will also incorporate a carbon emissions tracker for users.

A statement on the Travalyst website confirms:

"We want to be the driving force that paves a new way to travel, helping everyone explore our world in a way that protects both people and places, and secures a positive future for destinations and local communities for generations to come."

We can be sure that even if Harry drops his royal surname, he won't drop all the good humanitarian work he feels so strongly about.
