Prince Harry Can Only Be Invited To King Charles’ Coronation On One Condition

The British Monarchy is in a complete overhaul following King Charles' ascension to the throne. However, it is not just the monarchy that the King has to reconstruct and keep in line; he has to start with his family first – specifically his youngest son, Prince Harry, who is set to publish his upcoming memoir.

While publishing a memoir seems harmless, this is not the case for King Charles, as Prince Harry has been known to freely speak his mind about his own family and the monarchy. With the impending release of the prince's memoir, public chatter has become louder, becoming more curious whether it would contain his thoughts about his step-mother, Camilla, Queen Consort.

A Royal Insider has even speculated that if Prince Harry takes a rather unpopular route, his father, King Charles, might be forced to do something that may shock the general public.

King Charles acceded the British throne on Sept. 8, 2022, the same day his mother, Queen Elizabeth, passed in Balmoral. Since the royal palace announced that Charles's coronation will take place on May 6, 2023, speculation on how the ceremony will proceed has gone into overdrive.

Buckingham Palace's assurance that the ceremony would be "rooted in longstanding traditions" but will also "reflect the monarch's role today and look towards the future," has intensified talk that Charles will make some substantial changes to better reflect a modern monarchy.

Among the most considerable changes will be the guest list. According to Mail Online, unlike Elizabeth's 8,000-strong guest list, King Charles will likely cut this down to about 2,000 guests and dignitaries.

With the current estrangement between Charles and Harry, fans of the British Royal Family are now more curious whether the prince would be invited to or be welcomed to attend his father's coronation.

Ever since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their departure from their responsibilities, rumors abounded that there were tensions in the royal family. That was confirmed after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex released their controversial, tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021.

Since then, many have been interested in Prince Harry's experiences living in the public eye, especially when he was still in the British Royal Family. That is why many were excited by the announcement of the publishing of Harry's upcoming memoir.

"I'm writing this not as the prince I was born but as the man I have become. I've worn many hats over the years, both literally and figuratively, and my hope is that in telling my story—the highs and lows, the mistakes, the lessons learned—I can help show that no matter where we come from, we have more in common than we think. I'm deeply grateful for the opportunity to share what I've learned over the course of my life so far and excited for people to read a firsthand account of my life that's accurate and wholly truthful," he said in an excerpt posted by the Penguin Random House, the chosen publisher of his still-untitled memoir.

According to the Daily Beast, a close friend of Camila reveals that King Charles won't be likely to invite Harry and Meghan to the coronation should he attack Camila, the now-Queen Consort.

While this may likely be the case, Camila's relationship with Prince Harry seemed to be going the other way around, contrary to the public's anticipated indifference among the two.

True Royalty TV producer Juliet Rice explained to Fox News that William and Harry "adore" Camila.

Harry supported this claim in a book written by Angela Levin: "To be honest, she's always been very close to me and William. She's not a wicked step-mother. Look at the position she's coming into. Don't feel sorry for me and William, feel sorry for her."

"She's a wonderful woman and she's made our father very, very happy which is the most important thing. William and I love her to bits."

It has been reported that despite their love for their step-mother, the two didn't want her to have the title of "queen consort" even before King Charles III took the throne, despite the late queen showing her support for Camilla to take the title.

"When, in the fullness of time, my son Charles becomes king, I know you will give him and his wife Camilla the same support that you have given me; and it is my sincere wish that, when that time comes, Camilla will be known as Queen Consort as she continues her own loyal service," the queen said then.

But despite this, The Daily Beast reported sources close to the family say that Prince Charles might be forced to choose the unthinkable should Harry decides to speak ill of Camila:

"Almost everything Charles has done over the past 20 years has, in one way or another, been about getting Camilla accepted by the public. He loves her. He is incredibly protective of her and he couldn't do it without her. Even the queen finally accepted that. It is one thing for Harry to attack Charles, he can take it on the chin, but if Harry forces him to choose, by laying into Camilla in his book, I have no doubt he will choose Camilla."
