Prince Harry was the picture of a proud father as he and his wife, the Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle, showed their newborn to the world on Wednesday. Their beaming faces and tiny newborn were not the only stand-outs of the day: Harry broke royal tradition by holding baby Sussex himself when typically he would be held by the baby's mother.

It just goes to show that Prince Harry is going to be an active dad and will carry his son literally and figuratively to the future.

There has been a long line of tradition in the royal family that the mother usually holds the baby in their arms in the official photo shoot and debut. Fans remember when Princess Diana presented William and Harry, and the Duchess of Cambridge present Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis to the world.

While the children's fathers do also hold the baby in that very first photo shoot, it is the mother that comes out holding the child and her hands in the photo.

The baby's name was later revealed on the official family's Instagram as Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. The photo showed the family who was present including Her Majesty The Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh and the Duchess’ mother Doria Ragland.

In that famous photo shoot on Wednesday, Meghan told the press that she has 'the two best guys in the world'. The proud parents were absolutely glowing and Harry also added, 'We're so thrilled to have our own little bundle of joy'.
