Over the weekend, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry attended the first-ever Major League Baseball game in London. Attendees saw the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox in a slugfest at the London stadium with the Yankees taking home the win. However, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex also got to take home something...a cute little baseball jersey for their baby boy Archie!

Europe’s first ever Major League Baseball game raked in almost 60,000 spectators this past Saturday. Meghan and Harry went to greet the two teams in their locker rooms at the stadium. The couple looked ecstatic when the teams each gave them little gifts for Archie. The Yankees gifted Meghan and Harry a small jersey with Archies name and the number 19 on the back. While The Red Sox presented the couple with a red onesie and small little bat for Archie to play with.

The royals attended the game in honor of The Invictus Games Foundation which Prince Harry is a founding patron of. The foundation partnered with the MLB 2019 series to introduce the softball series to new audiences and show that it is an “inclusive sport” Sussex royal’s Instagram page said.

“On this #ArmedForcesDay, tonight’s event was also a chance for Their Royal Highnesses to shine a light on the men and women here in the UK and around the world who have sacrificed so much for their country.”  The couple also said about the evening.

Meghan got to meet one of her distant relatives at the MLB game. According to U.S. genealogist Jim Mcniff cited by the Boston Globe, Meghan and Boston Red Sox’s Mookie Betts share ancestry dating back 150 years in Alabama. Betts told the Boston Globe:

“I saw on television that they were getting married[Meghan and Harry]. But I had no idea we were related. That’s not something you expect to hear, but it’s interesting.”
