Prince George, Princess Charlotte, And Prince Louis Have Only Met Cousin Archie Twice Since His Birth

Few things in life are as precious as the birth of a baby. Just welcoming him or her to the world is a special event enjoyed by family and friends. The following baby is no exception to this rule.

Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor was born in May of 2019. This eagerly anticipated child was the first royal baby born to an American mother, Meghan Markle. In addition to dual citizenship, Archie is also multiracial.

Although every new mother needs time alone with her baby, Meghan took this to an extreme. Even the Queen and Prince Philip were not able to meet him until he was days old. Prince Charles, Camilla, Uncle William, and Aunt Kate first saw the newest royal at his christening ceremony.

After two long months, Archie finally got to meet his cousins, the Cambridges. Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis all attended a charity polo match in July of 2019. As they cheered on their dad, they spent time with their new cousin.

Throughout the match, Louis enjoyed entertaining his Aunt Meghan and Cousin Archie. At one point, Louis played with Kate’s sunglasses. This mini-show made Meghan laugh and caught Archie’s eye.

After such a promising beginning, inviting the cousins over would seem to be on the agenda. Unfortunately, Archie has only seen his cousins a total of two times, even though they only live twenty miles away. They weren’t even able to get together for the traditional Christmas celebration at Sandringham, the Queen’s country estate.

Part of the distance is the result of William and Harry’s strained relationship. The brothers have been growing apart for several months. Recent plans for Harry and Meghan to step back from royal duties have only deepened their rift.
