Prince George And Princess Charlotte's School Has Pupils Self-Isolate Amid Coronavirus Fears

Princess Charlotte and Prince George’s school is the latest to have pupils self-isolate due to fears of a Coronavirus diagnosis. 

Four pupils of the Thomas school in Battersea have been advised to self-isolate following a trip to trip to northern Italy as a precautionary measure.

According to Sky News, Princess Charlotte and Prince George’s school Thomas School on Battersea has advised four pupils to stay home while they await results for tests for the COVID-19. Up until now, no student at the school has been diagnosed with the virus. 

The school is the latest in the UK to take precautionary measures to halt the spread of the disease. Eight school have reportedly already shut down over fears of infection and many others have sent pupils home who have recently travelled to Northern Italy.

In a statement, a spokesperson for Thomas's Battersea said the school is taking risks associated with the virus “very seriously.”

"And to this end are following government guidance to the letter around both prevention against infection and in dealing with cases where any staff or pupils are suspected of being exposed to the virus or who display any symptoms,” the spokesperson said.

The spokesperson then explained that a small number of pupils at the school had been advised to stay home while they await test results. 

"All parents have been informed and we have maintained regular communication with our school community to ensure that advice is shared and important information is circulated.

"We will, of course, preserve staff and pupil confidentiality and will not be commenting on specific cases."
