Pregnant Woman Believes 20-Week Sonogram Shows Late Father Kissing Her Unborn Daughter

Coincidences occur almost every single day. Many people simply wave these moments off as nothing more than just a random occurrence, but for others, a coincidence could hold a lot of meaning. This is especially true for people who are missing a loved one who recently passed or for people who are gearing up for something extremely life-changing in the near future.

A pregnant San Diego, California, resident couldn’t wait to post an ultrasound photo that was taken of her unborn child five months into her pregnancy. When she did, messages from her followers began pouring in.

According to Fox 5 San Diego, many of the people who saw the ultrasound photo told Shantel Carillo, the soon-to-be mom, that an angel appeared to be giving her baby a kiss. Naturally, those comments moved her to thoroughly examine the photo more closely. 

After inspecting the ultrasound image, Shantel couldn’t believe what she saw. The angel her followers saw in the photo appeared to be her deceased father.

After she quickly searched for a picture of her dad, she found a photo of her father looking down at her first child, who was also a girl and an infant, when the photo was taken. The ultrasound photo looked so closely the same as the photo of her dad and her first daughter; it was almost hard to believe.

While many people nowadays may recognize Shantel for her appearance on a 2022 episode of the show “Botched,” she first made headlines several years ago for a very strange occurrence. After becoming a mother of two, Shantel decided that she wanted to embark on a journey to help get her old body back and make it better than ever. However, she encountered some complications along the way, leading her to the office of Paul Nassif and Terry Dubrow.

But what initially brought Shantel widespread recognition was her incredible story about potentially seeing a late loved one in a heartwarming photograph. Back in November 2019, Shantel shared a photo of her ultrasound and was met with a flurry of responses. When Shantel further examined her ultrasound photograph, she couldn’t believe her eyes. 

According to the Daily Mail, the then-pregnant woman believed that she saw an image of her late father kissing her unborn daughter in the womb. Her father, Chuck, passed away in 2016, three years prior to her pregnancy. Another remarkable coincidence was that Chuck’s birthday was in April, and Shantel’s baby’s due date was in April 2020.

“It was honestly like a punch in the chest, like how awesome it was to see that,” Shantel told Inside Edition. Speaking about the figure in the ultrasound photo’s top left corner, Shantel said:

“It has his nose, his little chubby cheeks, his little double chin, and my dad wore a hat like all the time. It looks like the bill of his hat and his lips are just touching hers so perfectly.”

According to ABC 7, many others thought they saw Chuck in the 20-week ultrasound photo as well, including family members, friends and Shantel’s social media followers. When asked if she truly believed that the photograph showed her late father kissing her unborn child, the mother replied:

“I can’t really think of it as any other way. If you knew my dad, he loved to be the center of attention. It makes me feel like he’s watching over my new daughter. It’s just a beautiful thing.”

The mother later explained that it was possible that the figure was just her placenta that somehow resembled a figure of her late loved one. Still, she couldn’t help but feel emotional seeing the image and said that her dad would have been “over the moon” to be a part of her second pregnancy and her second daughter’s life.

In April 2020, Shantel uploaded an adorable photograph of her and her daughter to Instagram, showing that her baby had been born around the same time as her late father’s birthday. Many people left positive comments under the post. One user wrote, “So precious.” Another said, “Awww how tiny.” Others simply left several heart emojis to show their love for the mom and her second child.

Just a few days later, Shantel shared another picture of her and her daughter. This one showed the mom planting a sweet kiss on her baby girl’s cheek. Again, Shantel and her little one received plenty of kind messages as everyone expressed their adoration for Shantel’s daughter.
