Life can be a tricky thing, but at least you have a bit of control over your own decisions. As for a baby, when they’re ready to come into the world, you simply must brace yourself and hope for the best. This was definitely the case for a young woman who was pregnant and determined to give birth with her husband by her side.
Katrina, a mother of one daughter with one daughter on the way, was waiting on her husband to come home from overseas. He was serving a tour in Afghanistan and unfortunately missed the birth of their first daughter, so Katrina and her husband Marc wanted to make sure all hands were on deck for their second daughter’s delivery.
Ironically, the couple would joke about their baby girl being home before Marc made it back, but were unaware of how probable those odds could be.

While waiting for Marc’s arrival, the couple spoke and even though Katrina was already nine months pregnant, it appeared Marc had a very slim chance of missing baby number two make her first earthly appearance. While Katrina was tracking Marc’s flight, she felt pain in her stomach and realized their time frame was shorter than they originally thought.
Because of her experience giving birth, Katrina understood the baby was coming now, but there was one problem: there was no way of telling Marc because he was still on the plane.
Determined to wait for her husband, she made up a sign saying “Not a drill. Baby’s coming!” As the contractions grew closer and closer together, there still was no sign of Marc. Unable to wait any longer, Katrina and her daughter had to begin making their way to deliver baby girl number two.
As soon as Marc landed and saw Katrina’s numerous missed calls and texts, he went into a frenzy to get off of the plane. He pushed through people while informing them of his great news and luckily for him, they were understanding and let him off quickly.
Marc made it and they traveled to the hospital in time to deliver baby Juliana. The family was overwhelmed with joy as Marc was able to finally witness one of his daughter’s births. They spent the next months loving on each other.
