Pregnant Girlfriend Had Never Met Server Boyfriend’s Family Until Customer Writes Note About Them

Taryn and Ben are a normal, young couple who live in Spring, Texas, a small city just outside of Houston that is home to roughly 54,000 people. The two also went to high school together, where they started dating.

However, Taryn is from Spring, whereas Ben is from Ireland. They got pregnant in 2016, prompting Ben to desire a trip for both of them to Ben's homeland. Unfortunately, the couple didn't have enough money to jet away to Ireland and back - at least not until this happened.

The half-Irish, half-Texan couple found out the Texan half was pregnant in July 2016. Six months later, they were told its gender was a boy. Both the prospective parents were excited about the gender of their baby-in-development.

Both Ben and Taryn worked stressful retail jobs that paid low hourly wages, incentivizing them to work as much as they possibly could. Further, the pair had schedules that were largely the opposite of one another, not leaving much time for them to enjoy one another's company for five to six days a week.

As of January 2017, the month when the American-Irish couple found out the gender of their baby, the two had been dating for several years. Ben had always wanted to take the love of his life to Ireland. However, now that Ben knew he would have a baby in a matter of months, he was more driven to take Taryn to Ireland than ever before.

Unfortunately, they simply couldn't afford it.

A few days after they had given up all hope of jetting away to the European island, Ben miraculously received a tip of $750 from a one-time, out-of-town customer who he'd never seen before. Ben and the stranger had made small talk, during which Ben shared his burning desire to take his soon-to-be-three-member family to visit family in Ireland.

After the customer left, Ben began to bust the table clean. The receipt stated, "Hopefully, this can get you back to Ireland for the holidays."

Ben broke the news to his girlfriend by nonchalantly sharing the receipt with her when he finished that day's shift. Taryn snapped a picture of the receipt and uploaded it to Facebook, where it soon went viral. The couple soon thereafter went to Ireland with their healthy newborn baby.
