Eleanor Manton's mother states that her daughter was extremely excited to gain this opportunity and that it is very important for mainstream media to include more individuals with Down syndrome, according to BBC.

JoJo Maman Bébé is a clothing brand that serves mothers and their children. This boutique claims to be the United Kingdom's favorite brand for children's clothing. When recruiting agents were scrolling through Instagram, they came upon little two-year-old Eleanor Manton on her family's page. The brand requested to have Eleanor model for them.

Eleanor's mother, Helen Manton said her daughter was very excited to have received the offer and almost immediately accepted the request. Of course, with the current pandemic, the shoot had to take place at a safe place. Helen decided to host the shoot at her home and she took photos of Eleanor in her garden.

While both Eleanor and her mother were busy, Craig, Eleanor's father played the role of getting Eleanor to smile. Occasionally, he would break into a silly dance or just make faces to keep Eleanor grinning, Daily Mail reported. Helen claimed that she was not more proud than amazed to see her daughter in those campaign photos.

Of course, as a mother, she was proud of anything her daughter could accomplish, yet seeing her daughter on those photos gave her a sense of hope that Eleanor could live a normal life.

Helen states that her daughter has always been a natural during photo sessions, however as Eleanor learned to walk, it became difficult to keep her still. She would usually attempt to run off. Helen hopes that these campaign images might make Down syndrome seem more normal to other people and that they might get stared at less when walking through the park.

Helen originally began her family Instagram account as a way to show Eleanor's journey. She claims that the Down syndrome community is extremely tight-knit and there is a sense of community. All the families are supportive and understand how to help one another out. After Helen's initial post of Eleanor's arrival into this world, she received a surplus of positive comments about her daughter.

After the initial surge of positivity, Helen was encouraged to continue posting Eleanor's baby photos. She admits that ever since everyone was put into lockdown, she has been posting photos almost every day.

Having Eleanor in JoJo's winter 2020 campaign was a win for children with disabilities and disorders everywhere. While Eleanor had been a part of several social media collaborations before, she had never done anything this big.

Helen hopes that these photos will help raise awareness for children like Eleanor. Maybe some children will see Eleanor in magazines or social media and recognize that she looks like them. After this initial exposure, Eleanor has been requested by several other companies to be the face of their campaigns.
