Postman Approaches Neighborhood's 'Aggressive' Dog Unaware He's Being Recorded

A New Zealand mailman was captured on camera taking a detour from his route, and saying 'hello' to a nine-year-old German shepherd in a home's backyard.

Dog owner Michael Collins of Tauranga wrote on Facebook that no matter the mailman's scheduled route, he always makes it a point to pause at his suburban home for some quality time with his pup, Kyza.

The dog might instantly attack you. He is going to attack, not with sharp canine teeth, but with lots of love. Kyza is a nine-year-old, big German shepherd. With the common understanding of people’s reactions to big dogs, most people would be intimidated at the sight of Kyza.

He would be perceived as a very dangerous and vicious dog. But, judging from his looks, you cannot blame people for thinking along that line. But, as the saying goes, read the book, don’t just judge by the cover.

If there is anything to consider, Kyza is the differing of what many people would think of him. This beautiful fluffy animal wants to be friendly and get along with the neighbors. What another way to do this except starting with the local mailman?

Handsome Kyza rarely barks. Most people would think that a dog of his size would never stop barking. He is mysteriously aloof of things surrounding him. This aspect makes him less dangerous compared to other dogs of his kind. His relationship with the mailman is one of a kind and one that many people would envy.

The mailman goes by the name Steve. He is unaware he is being recorded on video by the dog’s owner Michael. Even when he does not have a mail to deliver, Steve always drops by Kyzas home. He always makes a point of finding time to spend time with his favorite unique buddy.

It doesn’t matter the weather conditions, warm, cold, sunny, or raining. Steve must ride to see his buddy. For him, it is always a good time as he rides headed to his buddy’s place. These two have developed such a fantastic friendship and has become an internet sensation.

Kyza loafs around a bit as he hears Steve approaching. He then stands on his hind limbs and supports himself on the gate. Kyza is smart enough to do these so that his friend Steve can reach him easily. Back and forth, his tail swings, a visible indication of joy as he and Steve greet each other. Not minding the time of day, they show a lot of affection for each other.

Even in the middle of the day, in the New Zealand intense heat, the two get along flawlessly. Steve even takes off his helmet so that they can bond properly. Kyza lowers his head and remains unmoving as he enjoys Steve rubbing his head and fluffy back for some time. He then raises his head after getting a fill of soft rubs and gives Steve a few kisses. Steve does not mind these and happily accepts.

This is due to their composed nature. Additionally, they are amazingly obedient when adequately trained. What do you think? Let us know and be sure to pass this article along to all your animal-loving friends
