There have been many people who have spent their life dealing with disabilities. That hasn’t stopped them from doing what any other person can do.

One example is Hellen Keller. Helen was blind and deaf, but she still earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, despite her physical disabilities.

Stephen Hawking was a famed physicist. Stevie Wonder is blind but can play the piano like no other. Even Daniel Radcliffe suffers from Dyspraxia, a learning disability.

Yet, these individuals have overcome the odds set against them and have risen to do extraordinary things. That is why, in this day and age, it is so hard to hear stories like this one.

Allison Dia Hunsberger is just 21-years-old. She applied for a job as a server at her local Olive Garden in Elkhart, Indiana. She wrote on Facebook that she does have previous serving experience and knows what it takes to be a wonderful server.

She made it through the first interview with the company. However, when she mentioned only having one arm during the second interview, she said that two different managers of the company came to a snap decision.

One manager said she wouldn’t be able to serve because of the heavy trays they are required to carry, as well as having to use a cheese grater at tables. Even though Allison offered to prove she could do it, they refused.

She wrote in a Facebook post that she has never been turned down for a job because of only having one arm. Her story has now gone viral. Allison told ABC 57 News that she went back to Olive Garden again to prove that she could do what they asked.

She states that it meant the world to her to be able to prove them wrong.

The news outlet reported that the company has since offered her a spot on their team, saying the whole thing was a misunderstanding.

She even shared a video of herself grating cheese which has not only gone viral, it has also earned her job offers from other restaurants.

Allison has a ton of courage and we applaud her for speaking her mind. Everyone deserves a chance to prove that they can shine!
