As a member of the Jackson family, Janet Jackson is no stranger to the music industry and living her life in the spotlight. She is the youngest child of the Jackson family. While it's clear that Janet was inspired by her older siblings, she has certainly made a name for herself and paved her own way for her solo career.

Janet was born on May 16, 1966, and was raised with a love for music. She is known for incorporating elements of rhythm and blues, funk, disco, rap and industrial beats into her songs. Many of Janet's songs also include heartfelt lyrics about important social issues. Not only is Janet a great singer and songwriter, but she is incredibly talented as a dancer. She even has credits as an actress, really proving just how well-rounded this star is.

The talented woman first began her career with a variety television series called "The Jacksons" back in 1976, and has since catapulted into stardom. She appeared on several other shows throughout the 1970s and 1980s. Janet's unique sound and impeccable choreography made her a household name during the 1980s and 1990s as she worked to break barriers. She has since earned a plethora of awards.

In her personal life, Janet has been married and divorced three times, with her most recent relationship ending in 2017. Since then, she has learned a lot about herself and has opened up about what her life has looked like in recent years. Janet has also gone on to make a comeback in the industry, and to this day still has a staggering net worth.

Working Through Criticism

Janet has been a pivotal figure in the music industry for several decades. Some of her famous songs include, "All For You," "Nasty," "Feedback" and "Control." According to Parade, Janet has released 16 albums since 1982, and has sold about 100 million copies overall, with eight of her albums reaching platinum status.

As a performer, Janet is no stranger to the public eye and has been met with plenty of praise and recognition, but also plenty of backlash and criticism. One of her first bouts of criticism came from her 2004 Super Bowl halftime show alongside Justin Timberlake. During a duet of "Rock Your Body," there was a wardrobe malfunction in which Timberlake removed part of Janet's bustier, leaving her very exposed, according to HITC. However, most of the blame fell on Janet, resulting in her career going downhill.

In late January 2022, a two-part documentary titled "Janet Jackson" was released, giving viewers insight into Janet's life as an entertainer and what to expect from her in the future. The documentary even included a snippet of a new song from Janet titled "Luv I Luv." It also shed light on Janet's son, Eissa, and her ex-husband Wissam Al Mana – executive director of the Al Mana Group. Celebrity Net Worth reported that Al Mana has an estimated net worth of $1 billion.

According to HITC, Janet and Al Mana have had an ongoing legal battle over the custody of their son for some time now. The pair were married in 2012, with their son being born in 2017. However, Janet and Al Mana separated shortly after, resulting in divorce. In her documentary, Janet revealed that she is currently single.

The Future Ahead

According to Parade, the couple allegedly signed a prenuptial agreement that generally has a sum to be paid out after a five or ten-year period, with an additional sum if the marriage includes the birth of a child. This meant Janet was entitled to $100 million, and would receive another $100 for giving birth to Eissa.

It's clear that Janet has been an inspiration for several decades, earning her plenty of praise and recognition over the years. Janet has garnered several awards for her work as a singer, songwriter and dancer. She is actually one of the world's most awarded artists, with five Grammy Awards, 11 Billboard Music Awards and 11 American Music Awards. She was also inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019.

It's no surprise that so much fame and success has brought Janet a great fortune. According to Celebrity Net Worth, Janet's estimated net worth is valued at $190 million. While her gross revenues from several projects have accumulated to about $1.2 billion over the years, her current net worth based on her assets is the lower figure, according to Parade.

However, she didn't inherit any money from the Michael Jackson Estate after Michael Jackson died in 2009. According to Parade, none of the Jackson siblings received any money from the estate, as it was instead divided between their mother Katherine and Michael's three children, with the remaining money going toward charities.

Fortunately for Janet, she has a bright future ahead as her album, "Black Diamond," is set to release in 2022 with a potential tour in the works. We can't wait to see what this next era brings for Janet!
