Police Show Up To Catch Loose Pit Bull, Then Realize It’s Rescuing Owner From Gas Leak

They say that a dog is a man's best friend. A dog will be there for you when you least expect it. As long you are good to your dog, it will show the same towards you.

That is why a dog helped save its owner from a gas leak that could have led to a lot of damage.

Everyone is calling an amazing 11-year-old dog in New York a hero. Her name is Sadie. Initially, everyone thought she was only misbehaving.

On February 6th, the police were called about a loose pit bull. When they showed up, she started running away and lead them to a home they thought must be hers. While returning her to the backyard, they saw an open sliding door and a broken fence.

While going around the home, they detected a gas odor and realized that there was a gas leak.

The state of that home sent a clear message to the police. It was also clear from the blood stains and chew marks on the windows and doors that Sadie had been trying hard to get out. By leading the police back to that house, Sadie helped to prevent a disaster from occurring.

The house could have exploded. Serena Costello is the owner of the home who says that Sadie is a well-mannered dog. Sadie was in time out when she detected the gas leak, and from the look of things, she must have tried desperately to get out.

When she heard what Sadie had done, she was very proud of her.

Initially, Costello got a summons for not leashing her dog. However, when the police discovered the unusual situation and the gas leak, they chucked the summons. The authorities realized that she was only trying to get to safety and that she was not a badly behaved dog on the loose.

Sadie must have detected the gas leak decided to run out of the house. She did a good job of detecting danger and running for help. She certainly saved the day and is no doubt a hero.
