Imagine that you’re pregnant but not expecting to give birth soon, but all of the sudden, your soon-to-be-newborn insists on coming out into the world right then and has no care for where you are at that moment. Or perhaps you’re on a bus riding to work or to visit friends, and the next thing you know a woman a few feet away is bringing a new life into the world. Incredibly, this scenario was recently played out in real life. A Buenos Aires woman needed assistance from police officers who happened to get on the bus and gave birth with their help.
Appropriately, the grateful mother named her baby, Milagros, which translates as “miracles.” She weighed 7.3 pounds, and both of them have recovered and are now doing well. However, it was quite an ordeal to get to that point. The mother had been riding a bus in Buenos Aires when she suddenly went into labor.
A trio of police officers who had coincidentally boarded the bus were quickly pushed into action, ensuring that Milagros would be born as safely as was possible in the challenging conditions, reports The Daily Mail.

After she did so, she appeared disoriented, which is understandable for any woman who had just given birth but is even more so for one who was on a bus when it happened. At she attempted to regain her bearings, scissors were passed to one of the police officers, and she cut the umbilical cord as the baby starting crying. The newborn was quickly passed to her mother, who lovingly cradled her daughter for the first time.
Incredibly, a similar moment had also occurred in Buenos Aires less than a year before. At that time, Jessica Leal was enroute to a hospital to give birth there, but her contractions got to be so overwhelming that she simply could not go any further and stopped in the middle of a street. That’s where some locals created a temporary miniature hospital for her so that she could give birth, The Daily Mail concluded.
