Police Officer's Wife Touches Pregnant Homeless Woman's Stomach And Soon Learn Its Their Baby In The Womb

Police officers often encounter certain individuals more frequently than others. Despite the differences they may have, it is the officer's job to build a rapport with who they meet. For example, Santa Rosa Police Department Officer Jesse Whitten created an unusual bond with a drug-addicted woman he met on the street.

After a routine patrol encounter, he stopped many times to make sure she was alright and showed concern for her health (when he didn't have to take her in for a crime that is). He even helped to get her shelter on occasion. Once, he ran into her while on a ride along with his wife Ashley. He didn't notice her baby bump initially, but they started talking about pregnancies and life.

Then, several months later, the Whittens were at a Valentine's Day party when they received a phone call.

To their surprise, it was a social worker. The homeless woman they had spoken with wanted them to adopt her baby girl. Of course they didn't know what to do at first, but eventually, after thinking about it more, they knew that fulfilling her wishes was the right thing for them to do.

They already had three young girls but they couldn't refuse. They rushed to the hospital as soon as they could. There, they welcomed a new baby girl into their family and named her Harlow Masie Whitten. It was probably a difficult decision for her birth mother to give her away but she must have known after meeting them that they could give her child the opportunity to have happiness and success in a way that she couldn't at that present time.

Recently, with their daughters by their side, they officially adopted Harlow into their family. The Whittens revere the work they are doing as parents, adopted and birth, as imperative in making a difference in the world along with Jesse's ongoing profession as a caring police officer.
