Police officers often see people when they are facing a crisis. This was the case when a Milwaukee police officer pulled over Andrella Jackson. He is being praised for his decision to help the struggling mother instead of giving her a traffic citation.

Officer Kevin Zimmermann pulled over Andrella Jackson when he noticed a problem with her license plate. When he went to speak with Andrella, he saw that there were three children sitting in the back seat. None of the children were sitting in car seats or wearing seat belts as he told WTMJ-TV.

Officer Zimmermann asked Andrella why she did not have her kids properly restrained. She explained to the officer that she only had enough money to purchase the car and she was still saving money for the proper licensing and registration.

She also indicated that a lack of funding was also preventing her from purchasing car seats for her kids and that when she did make enough money, she would be forced to prioritize coats over car seats.

Officer Zimmerman decided not to write Andrella a ticket. Instead, he took her contact information but had to leave the scene pretty quickly because he was called to respond to a new incident. Officer Zimmerman said to WTMJ-TV:

"I'm a father myself, I have three kids, I thought of my kids jumping around. What if a car hit them and they flew and got seriously hurt, if not killed?"

That is when he decided to purchase car seats to protect Andrella’s children.

When Officer Zimmerman arrived at Andrella’s home and told her what he had done, she was overjoyed. She shared her joy in a social media post that read:

“Got pulled over for kids not being in a car seat and he went in bought and also installed them in my car. My Girls couldn't stop thanking him and it made them smile."

The Milwaukee Police Department also shared the heartwarming story via social media.
