Gwinnett County Police Sgt. Nick Boney Buys A Little Girl A Cake For Her Birthday

It was a quiet night in Gwinnett County. Police Sgt. Nick Boney was doing his best to keep the streets safe, and the cold weather in January didn't make his job any easier. His body camera was recording as he rolled down the empty streets that evening. Boney always keeps an eye open for people in need, and he is well-known for going beyond the line of duty to make a difference. He found a great opportunity to serve his community that night, and he didn’t hesitate to lend a helping hand to a pedestrian in need. What he did is sure to make your heart melt!

A mother was walking home from the store when Boney passed by. She was holding a handful of balloons, and she didn’t look like she had a ride home. It can be dangerous for anyone to walk alone at night, and the cold weather conditions made it even more uncomfortable. Boney decided to stop, and he asked her if he could lend her a hand.

According to FOX5 Atlanta, she told him that she was getting birthday supplies for her daughter. Her little girl was home with the family, and she wanted to get something to make the birthday celebration fun. Her daughter had just turned one year old.

Boney didn’t hesitate to offer her a ride to wherever she needed to go, but he went one step further than that! The best part is that this whole event was captured on Boney’s body camera. He helps her into the vehicle, and he quickly speaks to Officer Jimmy Wilson. He tells Wilson to take his personal credit card, and he instructs him to get a beautiful birthday cake for the woman’s daughter. They make sure to get a cake with a big candle with the number one on it.

Sergeant Boney delivers the cake with the thankful mother, and she invites him into her home to meet the entire family. Two small children great him at the door with a big hug. The young mother brings her little girl out to meet him. Boney can’t help talking about how cute she is!

He meets the woman's parents, and he can be seen in the video playing with the children. They all sing together, and they wish the little girl a very happy birthday. Boney takes it on himself to cut the cake perfectly, and he wishes them all farewell without asking for anything in return.

This amazing act of kindness wouldn’t have been discovered if it weren’t for a random video audit by Boney’s supervisor. It really is uplifting to know that there are such great people out there in the world. You never know when you’ll cross paths with a great person like Police Sgt.
