A 25-year-old Florida man was arrested after he realized he could not drive the car that he had just tried to steal.

Jaelyn Alexander carjacked a vehicle in Orlando but did not realize there was a problem until he noticed the automatic transmission. Once he realized that he did not know how to drive a manual vehicle, he attempted to steal a different car. By then, the jig was up and Alexander was a man destined to be arrested. Before he could get away with the second attempted carjacking, the police had already been notified and it was not long before Alexander was located.

It is not surprising that Alexander did not know how to drive a stick shift. Today's generation of millennials has not been as exposed to this type of transmission as older people have. You would be hard-pressed to find a younger driver who could drive a stick shift.

Alexander cannot be too proud of himself for this mistake. You can tell by looking at his mug shot that he is embarrassed. Of all the ways to get caught stealing a vehicle, not knowing how to actually drive it has to be at the top of the list of potential life embarrassments.
