According to Daily Mail, Jamie Walton of Venice, Florida, was walking past a park recently when she spotted a fat squirrel chowing down on a McDonald's cheeseburger. He didn't have part of a burger. He had the whole thing. It was still in its colorful wrapper.

The sandwich was as wide as the squirrel, who was pretty hefty himself.

He Went Viral

Walton took a video of the squirrel and posted it to her Reddit account. The photo received thousands of views. The story quickly went viral, and newspapers around the world spread the word.

Walton said she never expected that reaction. She just thought it was a "funny sight." She noted there is a McDonald's right next to the park. She said the squirrel must have grabbed the burger from there.

He Went Off His Diet

Cheeseburgers are an unusual food choice for a squirrel, but it's clear this squirrel isn't picky about his meals. Squirrels normally eat nuts, fruits, and seeds. If they're hungry and food is scarce, they'll eat lizards and insects.

Some commenters on the video thought the squirrel might be a pregnant female.

It's possible. Squirrels have two breeding periods. They can have litters from March to May and July to September. Maybe this squirrel was eating for two, four, six or even eight, which is the size of a typical squirrel litter.

Squirrels are in the news these days. Recently, Fox News reported on the latest trend of people building picnic benches for the squirrels in their yards. We're all looking for a reason to smile, and squirrels provide us with many reasons.

Do you think the squirrel is pregnant? Do your friends think he's a greedy guy who snatched a tasty cheeseburger? Let us know your thoughts on this squirrel and cheeseburger mystery.
