Planet's ‘Chonkiest’ Cat Is Looking For Someone Willing To Care For Him

Jun 12, 2020 by apost team

BeeJay is a large, brown striped cat. He was living in a Philadelphia animal shelter in 2019, hoping to find a home of his own. That day may have finally come.

Like many of the pets at the Morris Animal Refuge, BeeJay was looking for a forever home. In the meantime, he took life one day at a time. This tabby cat is happy to have a safe place to stay, staff who look after his needs, and enough food to eat.

Parents of pets and little humans often use the phrase "quite a handful," to mean rambunctiousness or mischievous behavior. In BeeJay's case, these words are entirely accurate; he is an enormous cat to hold. But by all accounts, BeeJay is loving and kind.

A recent picture with a human friend from the shelter reveals the truth. BeeJay is truly an armful of a cat! He is almost as large as his human friend's torso. BeeJay doesn't just look big on camera. A recent weigh-in showed that he tops the cat scales at 26 pounds. For reference, that's about twice the weight of an average-sized adult feline.

Shelter staff members are quick to point out that BeeJay is much more than a fat cat. He's caring, sweet, and would make an excellent addition to any home. In fact, the official statement posted on Facebook regarding this cat reads: "Adopt this jumbo-sized package of fluff and love, and help this sad-eyed guy find happiness!"

Even looking at BeeJay's picture stirs tender feelings and a longing to help other animals. According to NBC, after BeeJay's photos and profile hit the internet, he was soon put into a foster home, and it is very likely it will be his forever home. We are so happy this story has a happy ending!
