We have all likely heard of the saying “Adopt, Don’t Shop.” That is because there are so many animals that need rescued from shelters all over the world. If you check out the shelter in your home town, we are sure you will find dozens of dogs and probably even more cats that need forever homes. Too many animals get abandoned every single day in the world.

While you can’t help every animal find their forever home, you may be able to help at least one find the home they deserve. If you have the time, resources, and love, you should consider adopting a dog or cat from your local animal shelter. If you do not have the time or energy for a high-energy dog, you’ll find a lot of older animals at your local shelter as well. Older dogs and cats are often abandoned when their owners decide that they can’t take care of them anymore. They are also left in shelters when their owners pass away.

When dogs are adopted out of shelters, they often display a bit of manic happiness. Who could blame them? They have been cooped up in cages for months at a time, waiting for someone to come along and rescue them. When they are finally let free, they often get what is called the “zoomies” from dog parents. The zoomies are when dogs start running back and forth or in circles.

Hooch is an adorable Pit Bull who was just freed from his time at the shelter. He couldn’t wait to stretch his legs and run through the green grass at home. He is quite lucky to have a huge backyard to jump and play in. You can watch Hooch as he experiences a very serious bout of the “zoomies” in his backyard. He cannot believe the freedom he has to run around.

Hooch is so fast that his human parent has a difficult time keeping their camera on him as he runs. He goes back and forth and around in a circle in the backyard of his new home. We can tell that Hooch will be happy here!
