The pop singer Pink had a video interview from her home with talk show host Ellen on Thursday to talk about her scary experience of her and her son Jameson both contracting coronavirus.
Pink had announced on her Instagram on April 6th that she and her 3-year-old son Jameson had both contracted the virus a few weeks earlier. She wrote that they had both gone through the experience and were now both thankfully testing negative. After hearing the news that her friend Pink was suffering from the virus, Ellen decided to have her on the show.

When the talk show host checked in with Pink, they spoke about the experience from the beginning. Pink said Jameson started to feel symptoms on March 14 and his illness started with a fever that went up to 103 degrees at one point. Then she began to feel symptoms, which she said was like a rollercoaster, and she never even had a fever. She also spoke about her experience with having asthma her whole life but without showing symptoms for 30 years.
She also chatted with Ellen about a few important points that she reflected on after her experience. She noted that she was able to get a test, while most people are not, and that it's completely right to be angry about that and try to change the system so that people have access. She was also motivated to help others during this time:
"Every single person in the world right now gets to be a superhero just by staying home, just by washing their hands, by buying their elderly neighbors groceries if they shouldn't be at the store, calling a loved and making them laugh, donating masks, saying a prayer for a healthcare worker," she said to Ellen.
"Every single person is vulnerable and will be impacted by this virus. Shouldn't we find a way to get together and help each other instead of fight each other?"
Pink also talked about the incredible news that she had donated a million dollars to help fight COVID-19. She donated $500,000 to the Temple University Hospital Emergency Fund in Philadelphia, where her mother worked for 18 years. Additionally, she donated $500,000 to the City of Los Angeles Mayor’s Emergency COVID-19 Crisis Fund.
Of course, it was still the Ellen show so they talked about light topics too like how to cut your hair in quarantine. Watch the video below:
