Pink Gives 12-Year-Old The Microphone And She Wows Her With Her Voice

It’s not every day that people get to sing with their favorite artist. In fact, most people will never have this opportunity. That is why back in 2018, when 12-year-old Victoria Anthony made it known on Twitter that not only did she want to meet the famous pop star Pink but also wanted to sing at her upcoming Vancouver concert, it seemed like a far-off fantasy.

Victoria is a self-taught musician with experience singing since she was much younger. The teen can even sing while playing the guitar and piano, and — with a voice like hers — you’ll find it hard to believe that she has so much experience at 12!

So, as you can imagine, when she posted a video to Twitter and asked to sing at Pink’s upcoming concert and even tagged the pop star in the post, people weren’t sure what to think. However, the word about Victoria’s voice quickly caught on, and soon she had been spoken about on news stations and had gone viral across the web!

Despite this, she was still unsure if Pink had even heard her message. As far as she was concerned, the pop star was very busy and may have either ignored it, or the message never got to her.

That’s why when Victoria and her mother set off to go to Pink’s Vancouver concert at the Rogers Arena on May 12, they were surprised to hear Pink stop her set halfway through and call out for Victoria and ask if she was in the crowd. Not only did Victoria get a chance to meet her idol, but she even got to sing in front of her! What's more, Pink was absolutely taken aback by Victoria's amazing voice.

In the video, which was posted to Victoria's Twitter and YouTube pages, Pink stopped the concert and asked if Victoria was in the crowd. She said, "So, are you who I read about on the news? Are you the singer?" After Victoria and her mom made it known that she was, in fact, that girl, Pink asked, "Do you want to come sing something?" Victoria and her mom were in the standing section right in front of the stage, but since they weren't able to exit and get onstage, Pink decided to come down to them. Aware of how excited Victoria was, Pink even made a joke for her not to pass out at that moment.

After she reached Victoria, Pink introduced herself as Alecia, which is her real name. She then asked if she wanted to sing and said, "You can sing anything you want." Although she was clearly nervous, Victoria wasted no time in deciding and said she wanted to sing "Perfect." That moment was truly the opportunity of a lifetime — not only to sing for her favorite pop artist but also to do so live in front of a crowd of thousands of people.

Then Victoria began to sing the song, and the voice that came out showed a talent far beyond her years. Even Pink was immediately impressed. Her facial expressions said it all, and she even mouthed "Wow" multiple times. Victoria's sheer talent was undeniable, and the fact that she delivered such a performance acoustically and in front of a stadium full of people is simply incredible.

After Victoria's amazing performance, Pink gave her a big hug and told her, "You're amazing" and to "Never stop." To hear those words from your idol must be the most motivating thing for a young girl. That was when Pink asked Victoria her age and said:

"Oh my god, I sounded like Alvin and the Chipmunks when I was 12."

Pink thanked Victoria once again and went back to the stage to continue the concert. Meanwhile, Victoria's mom filmed her daughter's reaction, which was complete disbelief. At that moment, she probably didn't even have time to comprehend everything that had happened, but luckily she had the video to watch the moment again and again after.

Victoria posted the clip to both her Twitter and YouTube accounts, and on the latter, it has since received over 16.5 million views! Not only did Victoria get the chance of a lifetime, but the moment has lived on and been enjoyed by literally millions of people around the world. That must be an incredible feeling. Many people commented how considerate it was for Pink to let Victoria sing. One person wrote:

"It's amazingly generous of artists who let audience members sing like that in front of a huge audience. That girl will never forget the experience and Pink's kindness. Josh Groban does the same thing; it's so heartwarming to watch."

In fact, over three years later, Victoria has started a professional music career of her own. She's released music on her YouTube channel and even boasts over 43,000 subscribers already. Thanks to Pink, Victoria's dream came true, and it undoubtedly helped her along the path of becoming a professional musician herself.

Fans all over the world have gone wild over the video of Pink and Victoria. The Youtube video has over 17 million views and over 211,000 positive impressions. Victoria captioned her popular video by saying, "My Dream Came True!!! Pink asked me to sing with her in #Vancouver!!! I can't believe it."

One internet user commented and said, "This is why I love Pink. She recognizes talent and is not afraid to show others respect and admiration."

Another Youtube user wrote,"I have seen many, many artists do similar things and this is one of the best Not only is the 12-year-old young lady exceptional but Pink gives her the most respectful moments of absolute attention. It's a beautiful moment."

After millions of people watched the video, people respected Pink even more than before. Artists often impact their fans by calling them on stage. However, most fans, after seeing this video, say the kind act displays the artist's true heart.

Another positive comment said, "I LOVE Pink for a million PLUS reasons ESPECIALLY WHEN you can see how genuine her reactions are to the young girl singing! For the reason within this video alone is why I always have been & always will be a fan of hers!!!"

Pink has been releasing albums since 2000 and has been using her musical talent even before then. Over 20 years later, she still has a profound impact on the music industry as well as her loyal fans. A moving video like this is a perfect display of why the artist is still popular.
