Pink Calls Out Media for Spreading ‘Fake News’ About Her Marriage to Carey Hart

Mar 09, 2026 by apost team

Pink has never been one to stay silent when her name starts trending for the wrong reasons. The Grammy-winning singer found herself responding to reports that she and her husband of nearly two decades, Carey Hart, were divorcing.

The rumors, exclusively reported by PEOPLE, quickly spread. But according to Pink, there was just one problem. None of it was true. The pop-rock star, whose real name is Alecia Beth Moore-Hart, has been married to Hart since January 2006. The couple briefly separated in 2008, then reconciled in 2009. Since then, they have built a life together, raising their two children, Willow Sage (born in 2011) and Jameson Moon (born in 2016).

The timing of the rumors also struck a nerve. Just one day earlier, Pink had been named among the 2026 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nominees, earning recognition in her first year of eligibility. It was a milestone moment in a career spanning more than two decades and countless hits. Instead of celebrating that achievement, headlines focused on the supposed unraveling of her marriage.

Pink has long been candid about the realities of long-term relationships, often describing marriage as something that requires work, forgiveness and humor. In a blunt Instagram video posted on Feb. 26, 2026, Pink made it clear she was not amused by the news about her marriage that had come to light.

In the Instagram video, Pink said in a sarcastic tone: “So I was just alerted to the fact that I’m separated from my husband. I didn’t know. Thank you, People magazine. Thank you, US Weekly. Thank you for letting me know. I was wondering, would you also like to tell our children? My 14-year-old and 9-year-old are also unaware.”

Pink then shifted the focus to what she believes should have been the real story. She continued:

“Do you maybe want to talk about the fact that I got nominated the first year I was eligible for the Rock & Roll (expletive) Hall of Fame? Do you want to talk about my accomplishments, or do you only want to talk about my supposed demise?”

Pink flatly labeled the separation reports “fake news” and urged the press to look at bigger issues, including the Department of Justice’s release of files in the Jeffrey Epstein investigation, systemic racism and misogyny in sports. She concluded:

“I love you all. Go with God and trash news, you can do better.”

In the comments, her fans have stormed to her side, expressing their support and admiration for her courage in speaking up. One said: “P!nk is the most down to Mother Earth human and I am very on board with what she represents…kindness, humanity, and having a good life! Thank you P!nk….stay you!”

Another commented: “You are brilliant and beautiful and lovely and that’s unfortunate about your husband. You know I don’t know if overtime they could start to get tired or whatever I don’t know but I know you guys have been married for a long time anyway you’re beautiful and gorgeous and you barely drink it all I was a heavy drinker and cracker so I’m over now doesn’t matter anyway God bless you for who you are. I just adore you. We love you, P!nk. We love you pink.💃🏻👸🏻💃🏻👸🏻👑♥️♥️♥️‼️‼️‼️‼️”

Celebrities like Reese Witherspoon and Queen Latifah also showed support for the singer. “Set 'em straight ! Boom 💥,” Witherspoon commented, while Queen Latifah sent her some love through emojis: “🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️”
