This week, controversial breakfast show presenter Piers Morgan took to the Mail Online to once more slam the Sussexes for their decision to leave the Royal family.

This time, the 54-year-old accused Meghan and Harry of giving up their roles as senior royals in order to “exploit Diana’s death for millions of dollars from environment-destroying bankers.”

Morgan made his case by referring to Miami Beach’s 1 Hotel, where Harry and Meghan are said to have given a speech at an exclusive conference earlier this month.

According to Morgan, the couple was invited by JP Morgan Chase & Co, America’s largest bank. The Prince is said to have given a speech at the conference, where Harry touched the topic on Mental Health and the loss of his mother, Princess Diana, at the tender age of 12.

“It would take a heart of stone not to have sympathy for a man who was just 12 when he was made to walk behind his mother’s coffin in front of a billion TV viewers,” Morgan wrote.

“I remember watching that at the time and thinking it was a disgracefully heartless thing to make a heartbroken little boy do.”

“But Harry’s not the only person to ever lose a parent when he was young. It’s sadly happened to many millions of people, including me – my father died when I was one,” he added.

The columnist went on to accuse Harry of not being genuine when he talks about his mother’s death in these private circumstances, surrounded by ‘multi-millionaires’ and ‘billionaires’.

“By commercially exploiting his mother’s death to make vast pots of money like this, Harry is surely behaving in exactly the same way he professes to despise from the media?” he wrote.

The 54-year-old called the Prince’s actions hypocrisy - much like when the Sussexes advocated for the protection of the environment last year.

In July, the Sussex Royal Instagram account shared a post regarding climate change, where they told their followers there is a “ticking time bomb” on our planet.

“Just weeks after this post, the Sussexes were caught using Sir Elton John’s private plane from London to the South of France and back – a very short 90-minute journey, with 30 commercial flights available every day,” he wrote”

The justifiably harsh criticism meted out to them for preaching one thing about the environment and then doing the complete opposite themselves was one of the things that drove them to quit official royal life.”
