Different people have been posting pictures of the firefighters bravely fighting the wildfires in California, and here are some of them:

Wildfire season has no set dates, but it usually starts in the summer and ends in the late fall or early winter. The 2019 wildfire season started late and was relatively mild up through September. The Santa Ana winds that developed in October, however, were strong enough to prompt San Diego officials into issuing Red Flag Warnings about the increased risk of fire.

Wildfires spread so easily that they burn millions of acres of land with great speed and can wipe out everything—trees, houses, and people— as they go. The flames of wildfires travel up to 14 mph.

The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, also known as Cal Fire, reported over 50 fires that took place in October, with nearly half of them in southern California. Thousands of firefighters have been battling the fires to bring them under control and put them out. They have also rescued people and animals that they found in harm’s way.
