Rahma Haruna is a true inspiration. Born in Kano State, Nigeria, the little girl suddenly stopped growing at six months of age. It was her mother that first noticed that her daughter was not hitting the normal milestones that a baby should at that point in life.

Rahma eventually lost all of her limbs as a result of this mysterious health condition. Her family did not have the financial means to pay for expensive medical care and equipment. Instead, they lovingly put her in a bucket to transport her around with them. Rahma's father spent close to a million naira looking for a cure for his daughter. As a poor farmer, this was a significant hardship for him and his family.

A photo of Rahma in her bucket went viral after local journalist Sani Maikatanga shared the story of the girl and her plight. Donations began trickling in to try to help the girl and her family find a cure. Unfortunately, Rahma's condition was never officially diagnosed.

Despite being faced with unimaginable challenges, Rahma remained undaunted in life. She even had dreams of owning and operating a grocery store one day. It certainly helped that she had the unwavering love of her family to support her every day.

Tragically, Rahma passed away on Christmas day of 2016 after a bout with a short illness. Despite not realizing all of her dreams, Rahma truly touched the world with her story of determination.
