The flag of the United States represents a number of things. It represents the good and the bad of the country’s history. It has gone through a lot over the years, and it will always be a priceless symbol of the identity and pride of this great country.

For many people, especially kids, standing to recite the Pledge of Allegiance every morning is just something they are forced to do. Many kids are even taking after celebrities and refusing to stand. However, many kids, such as these two young boys, know that the pledge of allegiance is all about showing respect to their nation.

Ladii Ingram was initially worried when she was notified that her son and nephew were on Facebook. She thought that maybe Thomas and Derrick had gotten into some kind of trouble or that something bad had happened. But when she read the full post she realized that it was just the opposite.

On February 9th, 2019, a picture of the two young boys showed up on the Roseboro Fire Department page. The picture was of them standing with their hand over their chest right in front of the station. The caption talked about what happened that day, saying that Chaplain Herring had been raising the American flag to full staff when he looked over towards the boys.

What he saw gave him chills. They were both standing there saying the Pledge of Allegiance with their hands over their hearts. He was so happy to witness such a sweet sight that he quickly snapped a picture.

It didn’t take long for the picture to go viral. The local community was quick to express their appreciation and pride over what the boys were doing. Ladii gave CBS an interview, saying she was extremely proud of her boys and cried tears of joy. As a reward for their amazing actions, she plans to take them on a trip to the local arcade.

The boys told the news that they were eager to pay respect to the people who have risked their lives for their country. Thomas Jones and Derrick Ingram have since been showered with love and respect on the Roseboro Fire Department’s page. Many people were quick to point out that their parents must have raised them right.
