Presenter Phillip Schofield recently posted an emotional message on Instagram revealing he was gay. He then spoke about his years of inner conflict in a moving live interview on "This Morning," the show he usually hosts, showing that it takes courage to be true to ourselves.

57-year-old Schofield had been married to his wife, Stephanie Lowe, for nearly 27 years, but spoke about his struggle with coming to terms with his sexuality. He has since said in an interview with The Sun on Sunday, that he couldn't have got through it without the support of his wife and daughters.

Judge Ashley Banjo praised Schofield's bravery by saying:

"Can I say just say Phil, big week and you have always been an absolute legend, but never more than this week my friend. And I think I speak on behalf of all of us when I say we have got nothing but love and respect for you."

Schofield tried to deflect the attention back to the show by saying, "It's not about me." He has been co-host of the show with Holly Willoughby, who he had his live interview with, for over 10 years. It must have brought him a lot of comfort to present the show with his confidante and good friend.

He was greeted with a huge cheer from the live audience, which would have boosted his confidence. He has also received a huge volume of online support from celebrities and viewers alike, showing that everyone is behind him.

He told The Sun on Sunday, that he was "naive" to think he could suppress his sexuality when he married Stephanie, but concluded by saying: “If you ask anyone who is gay, they know — there is no confusion."
