Peter Andre Overcome With Emotion As He Presents Junior, 16, With A Moped

Peter Andre is an English singer and television personality who is best known for his singles “Mysterious Girl” and “Flava.” Andre is also known for his appearances on many television series, such as “I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!” and “Strictly Come Dancing.” 

Andre was born in London and his family moved to Australia when he was just six years old. He first rose to fame on the Australian talent competition series, “New Faces.” As a contestant on the show, Andre gained exposure that helped him earn a huge recording contract while he was still in high school.

While on the third season of “I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here,” Andre began an on-screen romantic relationship with a fellow contestant, Katie Price. Two years after the show ended, the couple were married and they have two children together. The couple also released an album together in 2006 titled “A Whole New World.” Sadly, they divorced in 2008. Their son is Junior Savva and he turned 16 in June 2021. They also have a daughter together, Princess Tiaamii Crystal Esther, who is 13.

Andre has since found love again, this time with Emily MacDonagh, who was a medical student when the pair met in 2012. They were married in 2015 and have two children together as well. A daughter, Amelia, born in 2014 and a son, Theodore James, born in 2016. 

Andre is a very loving and attentive father as you can see on his YouTube channel, The Andres, where he documents his family life. In a recent installment, Andre celebrated his son’s 16th birthday by surprising him with a moped. 

Junior was shocked to see the gift, he had been wanting a moped for so long but his father always denied the proposition. "No way, you actually got me one,” he exclaimed in the video. The look of joy and surprise on his face was priceless.

Junior continued, "Look at his face, oh my gosh. Dad, thank you so much, I love you. I'm getting emotional, guys. What the hell, how did you convince him? Wow.” He was so surprised he could hardly find the words to express how happy he was. Andre was overwhelmed by emotion at the moment.

"I got emotional because I'm a big softie," Andre said after the big surprise. It was clear how much it meant to him to see his son so happy, and likely he was emotional over his son getting older. A person’s 16th birthday is an important milestone growing up.  

Andre and Junior spoke with OK Magazine earlier in the year about Junior’s upcoming birthday. Andre explained his hesitation before purchasing the gift. "For his birthday he wants things I really don’t want him to have. For example, earrings, a moped and a few other things. I get why he wants the earrings and he’s a good-looking lad, but it scares me,” he told OK.

Andre continued, "I’m scared of the moped as I’ve never ridden a motorbike, but Junior has assured me they can only go 30mph and can’t go on certain roads. So maybe I’m overthinking it.” Mopeds can only be driven on local roads in the UK, where the Andres live.

Andre thought long and hard about the decision to get his son a moped and ultimately decided that it would be safer if he could use it under Andre’s supervision. The singer told OK, "He could rebel, but then the difference is he wouldn’t be coming into my house!" Trying to decide the best course of action with teenagers is never easy but Andre is really trying his best. 

Junior couldn’t contain his excitement when speaking with OK about getting his driver’s license. "I’ll be driving in a year. I cannot wait; that’s my dream right now. I can drive wherever I want," he said in the same interview with his dad. Junior’s stepmom, Emily, revealed that they had already booked his exam for July 3, 2021. 

The YouTube video showing Junior's birthday celebration was posted June 18, 2021 and already has over 185,000 views. The description reads: “In this video we buy Junior his 16th Birthday dream present. The family set up his birthday party for his friends, Peter goes to collect the secret birthday cake and then Junior gets to see the present that Peter and Emily have bought for Junior's sweet 16th Birthday.” 

There are almost a thousand comments wishing Junior a happy birthday. Some commenters were also impressed with how well-mannered the Andre children are. A commenter wrote, “One thing I've noticed about Junior and Princess is they are so grateful for everything. you would think because they are rich and famous they take things for granted but they don't, they were raised very well.”
