Petco Employees Hear Crying In The Bathroom, Discover 2 Elderly Dogs Abandoned And Locked Inside

As reported by wptv, It was a quiet Saturday night in Allen Park, Michigan. A couple, names unknown, visited a Petco store with their two senior dogs. Both dogs were only wearing collars when they came into the store. The couple told workers that they were there to buy leashes for the dogs.

However, that is when things took a different turn. Staff members went off to the leash aisle to find what the couple was asking for. When they did, the couple snuck off to the bathroom, taking the two dogs with them. They then mysteriously vanished from the store.

At first, store employees thought that the couple had simply decided to leave with their dogs. It wasn’t until they heard a strange noise coming from the bathroom that they learned what had actually happened.

The staff of Petco began to hear helpless cries and barks coming from their public bathroom, so they went in to investigate what was going on. They couldn’t believe what they found inside. The couple had left the two dogs alone in the bathroom, confused and abandoned. The staff looked inside and outside for the couple, but they had simply disappeared after abandoning the two senior dogs.

Both of the dogs were very friendly but also confused and scared. Neither of the dogs was spayed. After further inspection, both appeared to show signs of infection, heartworm and overbreeding. The staff also believed that the two dogs were mother and daughter.

Since being abandoned, the dogs have been getting the care that they need. They have been renamed Daffodil and Marigold by animal rescuers. Lauren Boesen was part of the rescue operation. She works for P.O.E.T Animal Rescue and was happy to step in and help. She told Fox 2 News that they do not know the circumstances the dogs came from or why the owners did what they did. She believes that they may have thought a pet store was a safe place to drop off the dogs.

"We are happy the dogs are now getting the care and attention that they so richly deserve. We hope that they both live out their lives healthy and loved."
