Performance By All Women Lebanon Dance Group Has Sofia Vergara Pushing The Golden Buzzer

"America's Got Talent" has become one of America's most loved talent shows on NBC. The show has been airing for over 15 years. The hit show premiered back in June of 2006 and has been a fan favorite ever since for many years. The show has had over 15 seasons, and recently, one talented act surprised not only the fans but the judges as well. 

The show's talent judge panel consists of Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, and Sofia Vergara. On average, the show has brought in record-breaking views for the network. Over 10 million viewers per season tune in to watch individuals, acts, and talents of all sorts. Talents travel from all over the world to get one shot at becoming number one. 

Stealing the show, one group from Lebanon gave the judges a performance they had never seen. The Mayyas are an all-female dance group from Lebanon that performs unique and hypnotic routines that are a beautiful spectacle to see. Traveling far and working so hard for this one opportunity, the dance group was shocked when all of their long hours paid off. 

The Mayya's choreographer opened up and revealed to People that for the women to be able to perform on such a huge platform is more than an opportunity. The coach went on to say that the women's success thus far is a win for women all over the world. Not only did the group's staff believe in them, but the world would soon.

Judge Vergara shared that she was more than inspired by the performance. The star admitted that the group's performance gave her goosebumps. The judge went on to do something very rare and remarkable. She gave The Mayya's the biggest opportunity they've ever had.

By pushing the famous gold buzzer on "America's Got Talent," an act is automatically sent to the 'live show' round of the contest. In June of 2022Vergara said that she was moved to push the button for the trailblazing group. 

"It's just something that happens to you and you feel goosebumps and you feel something with that person. And then, it happened to me," she said

The Mayyas said that this is more than a dream come true for them, it's a win for women everywhere. "You can't wait until life isn't hard anymore before you decide to be happy.' We have been living in a daily struggle in Lebanon between the inflation, the economical crisis, the blast [referring to the giant 2020 Beirut Explosion that caused extensive damage to Lebanon's capital city and could be felt across several European countries] and so much more," the group shared with People

"We can work harder, we can fight harder, we can adapt to everything happening to us. We are alive, we shouldn't take it [for] granted and we can't wait until life isn't hard anymore before we decide to be happy," they added

The star actress judge shared that she is thrilled to be on this road to success with them. "I would be so honored to empower you even more in this journey because you deserve it and I want to be part of this," she said

"Sofía always represented, for us, the image of a strong, beautiful woman," the group said. "And this is what Mayyas is all about: women [and] women empowerment. Receiving the Golden Buzzer from her was an absolute honor. We hope we won't let her down in the next rounds."
