LSU came in second place at the NCAA Women's Gymnastics Championship this Saturday. This is the fourth time that it got second place since 2014. The second place was right behind Oklahoma champions and just ahead of the third-place UCLA finishers.

The celebration of the team was marked with a confetti shower. At home in Baton Rouge, LA, a congratulating billboard is awaiting the LSU.

The final routine of the team was on the floor with a high-octane, floor-pounding display by McKenna Kelley.

The girl won a score of 9.95 that was just 0.05 from a perfect score of 10.

As Kelley gave her final bow to the public, the fans in the team's purple and gold colors went crazy. In the crowd, you could see the gymnastics icon Mary Lou Retton cheering with them. She is none other than the mother of Kelley.

Mary Lou Retton was the first American female to have an Olympic all-around gold. The legendary woman was giving perfect-10 fingers for her daughter and sending kisses through the air to Kelley on the floor.

She was in tears as she watched her daughter and her team receive their trophy.

This year, Kelley is a senior. This means that she might have her final season this year. While she is eligible to participate another year, she is not sure that she wants to use this chance.

On the senior night of LSU in March of this year, Kelley got her first perfect 10 since she began gymnastics. Of course, her mother, Retton, was observing from the crowd.

Retton shared that she tries to participate in every competition that she can and support her daughter from the crowd. Every season, she tells her daughter that she is going to be in the crowd during her competition just like other parents are and sit still while clapping. She promises to act civilized and quiet, but the excitement she gets when her daughter wins is more than she can bear.

Apparently, Kelley's mom is quite loud. Kelley shares that her mother's voice can be clearly heard and recognized from the crowd. Her hollers overpower the rest of the people in the seats. Kelley forgives her for this, however. After all -- what is there not to cheer about?

You can see the floor routine finals with Kelley on the video with Retton cheering in the back. The full routine can be seen from the semifinals where Kelley's performance earned her a perfect 10.

Adorable snapshots of mother and daughter that share the same career path and passion can also be seen.

What do you think about this daughter following her mother's footsteps? Do you think genetics plays a part in her success?
