"Peloton Husband" Gives His Actual Girlfriend A Peloton Bike For Christmas

The Peloton commercial that generated so much controversy now has a real-life happy ending. Despite the ridicule the ad generated for a husband gifting an already-fit wife an exercise bike, the actor involved has gifted his already-fit real-life girlfriend the same thing.

The holiday commercial debuted this year to much criticism. In the clip, a husband presents his wife with a Peloton exercise bike for Christmas. The wife then documents her time with the bike over the next year.

The ad sparked controversy in large part due to the fact that the wife already appeared to be in shape. Her nervous facial expressions also received backlash. Many detractors said that the husband appeared to be pressuring his wife to look better through the use of exercise, reports Time.

Sean Hunter is the actor who portrayed the Peloton husband in the commercial. In a weird twist of fate, Hunter actually gave his girlfriend in real life a Peloton bike for Christmas.

Hunter posted a picture of himself with his girlfriend, Cassidy Baras, along with the Peloton. In the Instagram caption, Hunter said, "Here's hoping this goes over better the second time." 

According to Hunter, Baras had joked that in spite of the controversy of the ad, she would actually like a Peloton bike. Hunter said that they are both using the bike and are happy with it, according to Newsweek.
