The royal family has been overjoyed to welcome a new member into their fold, and new aunt Kate Middleton said she is excited to meet her new niece soon when she visited Connor Downs Academy with US First Lady Jill Biden on June 11, 2021.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry first announced that they were expecting their second child on Valentine's Day in 2021, only to reveal the baby's sex during the March 7 interview special "Oprah with Meghan and Harry."

Royal watchers had previously predicted that Harry and Meghan would choose to honor both Elizabeth and the late Prince Philip by picking a meaningful name for their daughter according to Express UK

While the royal family is unlikely to immediately assign the newborn a title, Meghan and Harry's daughter will become a princess if Prince Charles becomes king, as grandchildren of the king are automatically granted prince and princess status, according to Elle.

The Sun reported that a spokesperson for Buckingham Palace said, "The Queen, The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, and The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been informed and are delighted with the news of the birth of a daughter for The Duke and Duchess of Sussex."

Naturally, the royal family is thrilled to have a new baby to love, and Kate Middleton is no exception. As she took on during Prince Philip's funeral, Lilbeth's birth has also put Middleton in the role of peacekeeper, as Prince Harry reportedly texted her about his daughter's birth.

Kate Middleton has been dubbed a peacemaker in the royal family ever since Prince Philip's funeral. On Friday, April 9, the Duke of Edinburgh passed away at the age of 99 years old. Philip's funeral on April 17, 2021, was a quiet affair with only 30 people in attendance due to the coronavirus restrictions. Generally, a man of Philips's stature would have received a state funeral with a minimum of 800 people in attendance, but this could not happen due to the ongoing pandemic. The guestlist of 30 people only comprised of the closest royal family members, which naturally included Prince William and Prince Harry.

The funeral marked the first time Harry was back on English soil after stepping down from the duties of a senior royal just a year ago, Metro reported. His wife Meghan Markle could not join him. Due to Markle being heavily pregnant with now-born Lilibet, she had been advised by doctors not to fly during this time. It is understood, however, that she had made every effort to join her husband until her doctors did not give her clearance, as per the news outlet.

The BBC reported that the Duke of Sussex and the Duke of Cambridge were seen talking together after they left their grandfather's funeral. After the service, the brothers were deep in conversation and later were joined by Harry's sister-in-law Kate Middleton

The Sun reported that William has previously called his wife a "peacemaker" in the family, and that may have helped to thaw the cold relationship between Harry and his brother. Kate may truly be a subtle but powerful peacemaker for the brothers. Many say she served as a beacon of light during the funeral for both the Royal Family and fans worldwide.

Harry and Meghan welcomed their daughter, Lilibet "Lili" Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, on June 4, 2021. The announcement of the birth came two days later, on June 6, and the newborn and her name have captured the attention of people across the world.

In the midst of all of the celebration of the newborn baby girl, Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Prince William and Kate Middleton made their own post on social media to congratulate Prince Harry, Meghan, and Archie.

Despite recent tensions between William and Harry, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge took to Instagram on Monday, June 8, to congratulate Meghan and Harry on the latest addition to their family. The caption read:

"We are all delighted by the happy news of the arrival of baby Lili. Congratulations to Harry, Meghan and Archie."

On Friday, June 11, Kate opened up about not having met her niece yet when she visited the Connor Downs Academy with US First Lady Dr. Jill Biden. At the event, Express UK reported that she was asked by a news reporter whether she has had a chance to meet Lili yet. Kate replied, "We haven’t met her yet, I hope that will be soon."

The duchess also said, "I wish her all the very best. I can’t wait to meet her."

However, according to Marie Claire, Prince Harry texted Kate Middleton to tell her about the birth of Lilibet, an act that solidified Kate's role as a peacemaker between the two brothers. Now that Prince Philip has passed away, Kate has been taking on the role of peacekeeping in the royal family that the late Duke of Edinburgh traditionally carried out.
