With reality often comes parody. Sometimes parodies are created solely for laughs and amusement, and sometimes they truly hit the nail on the head and reflect the original work beautifully. Over the years, star of the Ant-Man movies, Paul Rudd and actor and late night talk show host, Jimmy Fallon are guilty of creating several of these perfect parodies of famous 1980s and 1990s hit song music videos. This year, the team has partnered up to perfect the parody science once again with their incredible new music video of another popular 80’s hit song.

On Thursday night’s episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, they released their new video, which also worked as a way to avoid discussing possible spoilers about the new Avengers movie in which Rudd stars, Endgame. Instead, Fallon and Rudd traveled backwards in time to the 1980’s for another entertaining musical adventure

The famous singing and dancing duo returned to the music video scene to perfectly recreate Dead or Alive’s “You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)” music video from 1985. Rudd took on the role of the band’s lead vocalist, the late Pete Burns and Fallon portrayed the band’s late drummer, Steve Coy. From spot-on wigs and flawless makeup, to eye patches and awesomely imitated choreography, they remained true to the source and produced nothing but their trademarked top quality performance.

Of course, the “You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)” video is not the first collaboration between Fallon and Rudd. The dynamic duo famously recreated Styx’s music video for their hit from their 1981 triple platinum album, Paradise Theatre, “Too Much Time on My Hands” in 2016. They also created their own rendition of the British pop duo, Go West’s 1990 “King of Wishful Thinking” video in 2018, a song that was featured in the 1990 film, Pretty Woman.

What do you think about Rudd and Fallon's recreation of this iconic music video? Is there a famous 80s or 90s hit song you'd like them to recreate next? If so, let us know in the comments and be sure to spread the word about this hilarious clip!
