Paul McCartney, Tony Bennett, Goldie Hawn React To Doris Day's Passing

Celebrities are offering their tributes and condolences over the death of beloved film actress and singer, Doris Day. The legend passed away at the age of 97 due to complications from pneumonia on May 13th, 2019 reported CNN.

Because Day was so multitalented, she inspired superstars across several industries. Singers Paul McCartney and Tony Bennett—luminaries in their own field—joined actresses Goldie Hawn and Sarah Jessica Parker to pay tribute over social media, among many others fans and celebs alike.

The famous Beatle Paul McCartney remembers Doris not just for being “a true star in more ways than one,” but also for her famous love for animals when he said, “Visiting her in her Californian home was like going to an animal sanctuary where her many dogs were taken care of in splendid style.”

Goldie Hawn is another blonde bombshell in Hollywood, and offers her best wishes to say “May she rest peacefully.”

Tony Bennett reminisced over his friend Doris and posted a throwback of his appearance on “The Doris Day Show” in 1970. The two of them are famous for their golden voices and it’s clear to hear that in the clip.

Fellow “Cincinnati girl” Sarah Jessica Parker posted a gallery of Doris’ iconic outfits describing how she fangirled over her but could never get her fan letters right.

Some contemporaries of Doris’ time also posted touching tributes include Rose Marie (who has also passed but still has somebody overseeing her active social media presence) and Mitzi Gaynor.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences couldn’t forget the golden girl either since she was nominated for an Oscar for “Pillow Talk”. They remember her humor, extraordinary talent and kind heart the most.
