Paul McCartney Posts Rare Snap Of Him With Wife Of 11 Years Together To Profess His Love

Sir Paul McCartney is one of the UK's national treasures, earning his name with one of the most popular bands of all time, The Beatles, and never slowing down, even in his successful solo career.

For anyone who has been living under a rock since the 1960s, Paul McCartney was one of the members of The Beatles, who are often considered the most influential band in pop music history ever. That's no small feat. Despite only being active for ten years together, the "Fab Four" from Liverpool, England, clearly left an indelible mark on music history and pop culture. While his Beatles days might be behind him, McCartney does make it a point to carry on the legacy of the beloved band, as well as its late members, John Lennon and George Harrison. The songwriting partnership between McCartney and Lennon was iconic and is still considered to be one of the most fruitful musical pairings in history. The Beatles as a band are the best-selling music act of all time, having sold 183 million units in the US and an estimated 600 million units globally.

After the Beatles dissolved, McCartney launched a solo music career and formed other bands, including with his late wife, Linda McCartney. As a couple, they had four children together, one of whom is daughter Stella McCartney, who is a well-known fashion designer in her own right. Meanwhile, another daughter, Mary McCartney, followed in her mother's footsteps and became a photographer. However, Linda tragically passed from cancer in 1998. It would take years before McCartney would find love again, although he has had some strikes in the romance department. Fortunately, the musician would hit the jackpot with his latest love and current wife, who is so far removed from his world of superstardom and music glory.

Famously from Liverpool, England, McCartney was born on June 18, 1942. After forming The Beatles in 1960 in their hometown, the band went on to incredible success, both commercially and critically — you'd be hard-pressed to find someone who hasn't heard of The Beatles!

McCartney's influence has even been noticed by the late Queen Elizabeth II, who knighted the musician in 1997. However, in 2017 she elevated his rank to Companion of Honour for his services to music. This puts him among other well-known people who've received the Companion of Honour, including scientist Stephen Hawking, actors Ian McKellen and Judi Dench, and author J.K. Rowling.

Still touring and showing no signs of slowing down, McCartney is a true performer. He's known to play three-hour shows that move around his long and diverse back catalog, including everything from The Beatles and Wings, to his solo output.

Being such a beloved public figure, it's easy to see why he is also popular with women. Beatlemania was renowned for sending crowds of young women into a frenzy. While that kind of enthusiasm has dampened a bit as time goes by, McCartney managed to find love again after his first wife's passing with former model Heather Mills, whom he married in 2002. The pair were famously dogged by the media throughout their relationship and even after they divorced in March 2008, with much attention paid to the $48.7 million divorce settlement Mills received.

With so much of the world's spotlight on McCartney and whoever was to be on his arm, it may seem like a fool's errand for him to keep searching for the one. However, in 2007, reports would surface of budding love between the music icon and a pretty much unknown woman.

It would soon be revealed that McCartney was dating Nancy Shevell, an American businesswoman from New Jersey. The press went wild trying to dig up all they could on Shevell, especially for any salacious news but would be left disappointed. Shevell was a trucking executive working for a family-owned conglomerate who happened to be McCartney's neighbor in the Hamptons.

They married in Oct. 2011 at the Old Marylebone Town Hall in London, where McCartney had also traded vows with Linda. Many describe the couple as laid-back and very much enamored with one another. "They were lovely, very relaxed and very charming and clearly in love with each other," one councilwoman described the pair during their marriage preparations. After the wedding, the couple began to take a step back from the spotlight. They began to be seen in public together far less than when they had been dating, and even on social media, it was rare to find a picture of the two together.

Every once in a while, though, McCartney does take to social media to pay tribute to his wife in very sweet ways. He wished her a lovely Valentine's in a 2021 post, while another picture of the couple with their rescue dogs was posted in Feb. 2021. In October of that same year, McCartney posted a sweet tribute to Shevell on their anniversary, writing, "10 beautiful years together. Happy Anniversary to my lovely wife. – Paul."

McCartney again showed just how much love was all he needed by posting a picture of him and Shevell outdoors in a pristine garden, looking happy, healthy and very much in love. In the caption, McCartney wrote simply: "Giving thanks for love – Paul ❤️"
