"Writing a musical is not something that had ever really appealed to me," McCartney told the New York Post. "But Bill and I met up with Lee Hall and had a chat and I found myself thinking this could be interesting and fun. ‘It’s A Wonderful Life’ is a universal story we can all relate to."

Fans are naturally going crazy over the idea of this musical adaption with Macca as the brains behind the songs. One Twitter user wrote,

"I just heard that Paul McCartney is writing a stage adaptation of Its A Wonderful Life. I can’t express how happy this makes me."

The tabloid reports that there is no solidified date to when the show will debut but that won't stop fans from buzzing about how great it will be.

Another Twitter user said,

"So Paul McCartney is writing the music to the Its a Wonderful Life musical and I think it’s already my favorite musical of all time."

While another said,

"Okay guys, this is not a drill. Paul McCartney is writing a musical for Its a Wonderful Life. HOW DO I AUDITION??? I’ll move to London. It’s fine. Come ON."
