Born on June 1, 1934, Pat Boone has been an iconic jack-of-all-trades in the entertainment world, especially in the 1950s.
Pat built an astounding music career. In 1955, he landed his first major record, producing charming pop hits like “Ain’t That a Shame.” He also hosted “The Pat Boone–Chevy Showroom” from 1957 to 1960.
He also acted in films like 1957’s “April Love” and “Journey to the Center of the Earth” in 1959.
In 1997, he surprised fans by releasing a heavy metal album titled “In a Metal Mood: No More Mr. Nice Guy.” Pat later launched The Gold Label in the 2000s, producing patriotic and devotional music.
However, his most profound personal journey began after the loss of his cherished wife, Shirley Boone, in 2019.
In recalling his beloved wife, whom he married in November 1953, he shared: “We were very much in love.”
His wife, Shirley, was known for her impact on Christian ministry. Pat acknowledged her achievements during an interview with People: “We didn’t have the perfect marriage, but it helps to marry a magnificent woman.”
He reflected on his loss: “We lived a wonderful, blessed life together for 65 years. I’ve parted with my better half for a little while…”
As for life after Shirley’s passing, Pat told Closer Weekly: “I’m living here alone with a housekeeper and my dog, a little cocker spaniel… Shadow is his name.”
He said: “It’s just me and my shadow, all alone and feeling blue.” The singer then added: “I’m doing fine. I mean, gosh, I miss her.”
In an Instagram post from October 2024, Pat shared a throwback photo of them together, captioning it: “But I miss you most of all my darling, when autumn leaves start to fall... I hope everyone is having a blessed start to your fall season!”

After Shirley’s passing, Pat found renewed purpose through his faith and career.
In an interview in April 2022, the star expressed his commitment to giving back:
“I don’t need to build up anything more for myself, but I take advantage of many opportunities in which I can increase my giving because God loves a cheerful giver, and I am a cheerful giver.”
In 2023, Pat thrilled fans by releasing a surprise single called “Grits.” During an interview, he recalled the inspiration behind it:
“I dreamed I was having a big country hit record.”
He also humorously admitted to struggling with the choreography:
“I’m not a gifted dancer by any means. I’m 89, so trying to learn that peppy line dance which was created for ‘Grits’ was a lot!”
Pat also finds joy and solace with his family. On Father’s Day 2024, he posted a photo on Facebook with the caption:
“Being a father, a grandfather, and a great grandfather is one of my greatest adventures and accomplishments in life! I love my family dearly, and I am so thankful to have started something so beautiful.”
In September 2024, Pat also shared a sweet glimpse into life with his four daughters in an Instagram post, captioning it:
“I love this photo of all of us sitting in front of them in the family room…”
On Sept. 30, 2024, he shared his experience performing at the Roger Williams 100th Commemorative Birthday Celebration Concert, describing the opportunity as an honor.
In a post on Oct. 16, 2024, he thanked a friend who shared a video of the event, adding:
“It was truly an honor to be part of such a special event. And remember, friends, no dream is impossible – even at 90!”
Fans left heartfelt comments like:
“Brought tears to my eyes," and "Absolutely Amazing!”
Another fan admired Pat, saying:
“Pat you’re amazing! What a wonderful performance at 90 you killed it! Thank you for sharing I loved it (sic)!💙🧡❤️💚💛.”
