Airline crews have seen it all: traveling celebrities, challenging passengers, and in-flight drama. It would seem that nothing would surprise them anymore. But every once in a while, something happens that leaves everybody speechless. Leah Amy, a flight attendant with Virgin Atlantic airlines, recently shared a heartwarming story that has become one of her very favorites.

In a recent facebook post, Leah Amy shares what happened. An 88-year-old woman happened to meet a young man named Jack at the airport as they waited for their flight. As it turns out, this meeting was more than coincidence. This was about to make everybody's day.

The 88-year-old passenger, Violet, was traveling between London and New York. It was a trip she had made many times to visit her daughter. She hadn't traveled in a while, because of a recent surgery. But this trip held something special for Violet.

After meeting each other in the airport, the passengers boarded the flight. Violet, who was seated in the plane's economy section, was surprised and delighted when Jack came and found her and wanted to switch seats with her. Jack's seat was in the upper class cabin, and it had always been Violet's dream to sit at the front of the plane.

Violet was thrilled with her new seat, and thoroughly enjoyed the perks of traveling in Virgin Atlantic's first-class section. She wanted someone to take a picture, to prove to her daughter that it happened. Without a phone or an email address, she'll be getting her pictures mailed to her by her friends on from the plane.

The flight crew was impressed and inspired by Jack's gesture of goodwill. His new seat was right by the plane's lavatory: arguably one of the busiest and least-desirable seats on any plane. But Jack spent the flight content and never complained or even asked for anything.

People everywhere are loving the story. Everybody from Fox News to The New Zealand Herald has been talking about this story, reporting on it, and being inspired by it.

With thoughtfulness and generosity, Jack gave up his great, comfortable, first-class accommodations for a lady he'd just met. It made her whole day, and it made her long-time dream come true. And in the process, Jack inspired a whole lot of people to think about others and see how random acts of kindness make the world a better place.

What do you think? Have you seen the impact of this kind of generosity lately? Do you have a story of how a random act of kindness made a difference in somebody's life? Tell us what you think of Jack's kindness to Violet, and tell a friend, too!
