Michael's only daughter, Paris, has found success in the entertainment industry. She signed a contract with IMG Models in March 2017 and made her acting debut with a guest-starring role on the television show "Star" around the same time. Paris made her film debut in 2018 with a role in "Gringo." Now, Paris is putting her inherited musical talents to good use by performing, releasing her debut "Wilted" in 2020, three singles in 2022 and 2023, and singing with the band The Soundflowers

During an interview with Rolling Stone in January 2017, Paris opened up about how she coped with losing her father when she was 11 years old and how she carries his legacy with her today. At the time, Paris had 50 tattoos, with nine dedicated to her late father. "He's brought me nothing but joy," Paris explained, "so why not have constant reminders of joy?"

Paris again paid tribute to her beloved father on what would have been his 65th birthday on Instagram. A video posted on Aug. 29, 2023, showed Paris sitting down in front of a camera in a dressing room after a performance. She began by saying

"So today is my dad's birthday. And back when he was alive, he used to hate anybody acknowledging his birthday, wishing him a 'Happy Birthday', celebrating it — nothing like that. He actually didn't want us to even know when his birthday was, because he didn't want us to throw a party, or anything like that."

She continued by lamenting that "social media is apparently how people express their love and affection these days and if you don't wish someone a 'Happy Birthday' via social media, it apparently means that you don't love them, that you don't care about them."

Paris went on to say in the video that "people lose their f— minds" and "tell me to kill myself" in past years when she's failed to acknowledge Michael's birthday on social media. "They're basically telling me that I don't love my own father, based on what I post on Instagram — so I made you guys a little video and I hope you enjoy it," Paris said before a clip of her addressing the audience at a performance began to play.

On the stage, Paris declared: "It's also my dad's birthday. And he would have been 65 years old today, and he put 50 years of blood, sweat and tears and love and passion into doing what he did, so that I can stand up here on stage in front of you and scream into a microphone. So, I owe everything to him."

When the clip ended, the video cut back to Paris in the dressing room, who had a few words to share with those who identified as "MJ superfan," urging them to throw their efforts behind charitable causes her father showed interest in rather than slamming others online.

"These were things that he loved and was very interested in. I can't speak for him, because I'm a different person and I don't know, but I'm sure he would have loved that. So if you want to pay homage and honor him on his birthday, that would be my suggestion," she remarked at the end of her video.

Fans were quick to back and laud Paris, with one comment reading, "You're a Total Class Act! He'd be Super Proud," while another user wrote, "It's very clear he loved his kids and his kids continue to love and honor him in the work they do ❤️❤️"
