A police raid uncovered packaged candy laced with drugs and issued a warning saying more of this candy could be on the streets. The scary part is that it might be given out as treats during Halloween.

Police are advising parents to check their kids' trick-or-treat candy before they eat it. The Johnstown Police in Pennsylvania found a batch of Nerds Rope laced with 400 mg of THC—the marijuana substance which gives people a high. Their warning was posted on Facebook along with photos of what the tainted candy might look like.

Their warning post stated that the department wanted to draw extra attention to Nerds Rope. They went on to explain the discovery they made while executing a search warrant in Stoney Creek Township. The warning went on to urge parents to remain cautious saying:

"During this Halloween, we urge parents to be ever vigilant in checking their children’s candy before allowing them to consume those treats."

They are "package like regular candy and may be hard to distinguish from the real candy." It was packaged in yellow and red wrapping that's difficult to discern from the real sweets.

The manufacturer of Nerds Rope, Ferrara Candy Company, confirmed that the candy was entirely counterfeit in a statement to CBS. It wasn't manufactured at any of their facilities. The company assured consumers that the products found at major retailers are safe for everyone.

In Pennsylvania, THC is legal for those with certain medical conditions. However, it is not lawful for recreational use.
