Parents Bring Home Their Newborn Baby, And Their Parrot Has A Reaction You Won't Believe Until You Hear It

A family recently brought their little newborn home. Usually, something like this, when everybody gets to meet the new addition to the family, is a happy moment.

Sometimes, however, other siblings or, indeed, pets can react negatively to the little one. In this case, the family's parrot had a whole lot to say about the new state of things.

Parrots are known to be able to mimic things they hear. This way, they sometimes even learn to "say" certain phrases or things.

The phrases they can utter can range from the cliché "Polly wants some crackers" up to insults, greetings they commonly overhear and random words. In this case, however, the family parrot managed to pick up something truly special: The little tyke's crying!

Instead of one crying newborn, this family can now enjoy two! At least as far as their ears are concerned. The family pet randomly joins in or imitates the baby's cries throughout the day. We have to wonder: Did the poor parents ever get up during the night, just to find that instead of their little one, their parrot was making the crying noise? And just imagine finally getting your baby to sleep, only for the parrot to start up again!

Of course, it's hardly the parrot's fault. Parrots are one type of bird that exhibits 'song learning' - meaning these birds do not have all their songs and calls 'written down' in their genes, but rather learn how to make these sounds from others of their kind. In some cases, some types of birds may even have regional 'dialects' within their songs and calls!

Some song-learning birds may only mimic their own species or other birds, but many kinds of parrots also start to mimic and learn their human owner's phrases. Simply put: This parrot wanted only to communicate with his family's newest addition!

What do you think? Do you think this is a funny thing or do you feel bad for the poor family? We have to wonder how long the parrot will remember these cries. Will their newborn grow up just to hear their own crying still repeated by the parrot?
