When Raygen and Harper Pruitt found out they would be getting a new adopted baby sibling to join their adoptive brothers Titus and Elliot, the two were overjoyed.

After a 10-month long wait, their parents Kasi and Shane finally brought home their newborn baby sister on July 26, 2017. Raygen, who was 11 years old at the time, couldn’t help but cry when she laid eyes on the infant for the very first time.

The whole ordeal was caught on video, which shows Kasi walking into the home cradling the newest member of the Pruitt family. When Raygen sees her mom walk in she is heard exclaiming,

“Are you kidding me?”

Initially in shock, the girl then bursts into tears of joy as she finally got to meet her baby sister.

The newborn had become the 7th addition to the Pruitt family. According to ABC News, Raygen and Harper knew they would be getting a baby sister and were growing impatient over the long 10 month period.

“They would ask all the time, ‘Have you gotten a call? When is our brother or sister coming home?’” their father, Shane, told ABC.

“And they definitely wanted a sister.”

In July 2017, Shane and Kasi got a call from their adoption agency that a newborn girl was ready for them to take home to join their family the next morning. The parents decided against telling their children, in case the things ended up not going as planned. They left to pick up the baby girl early in the morning and returned a couple of hours later to surprise their children.

Shane was the one to film the loving interaction, and the video has since gone viral on Twitter with 1.4 million views at the time of writing.

“Their two reactions are very fitting for their personalities,” Shane added. “Harper, we say she’s very spicy [and] Raygen loves to take care of others.”

The video of the interaction was meant to be their birth announcement but it quickly went viral as the whole world fell in love with the girls’ reaction.

“Out of all of those views probably 200 are of our daughters watching it,” Shane joked.

“If it shines a lot on adoption and encourages other families to step up and be foster parents or adopt, then that’s the ultimate win.”
