Paralyzed Dog Pregnant With Puppies Gets The Best Ending

Dogs are truly a human’s best friend. They’re kind, loyal, and if you’re lucky, your dog can give you a litter of adorable pups. While dogs are truly a great addition to any family, it is important that your dog receives proper love and care.

Maria, an adorable Dachshund, was owned by a breeder that didn’t take the best care of her. In addition to suffering physical abuse, she was also forced to breed while paralyzed. Learning of her pregnancy, surely her owners would be happy and supportive that their cute pup Maria was a mother-to-be, right?

Wrong. In fact, when they learned of her necessary c-section and the $3,000 price tag, they abandoned her. Can you imagine getting rid of a helpless pregnant dog, struggling to carry puppies while being paralyzed from the ribs down?

Not only was Maria suffering to survive to deliver her babies, she was trying to cope with spinal and hind leg issues, which are common with her breed. Maria also was greatly malnourished and had a bunch of infections. Things could not get any worse, right?

Luckily, a miracle happened for little Maria. After being checked out by vets and verifying that she had been paralyzed for months, Maria was able to deliver her seven pups via a successful c-section.

Maria’s puppies, Kurt, Louisa, Liesl, Gretl, Fredrick, Werner, and Rolfe, have been properly taken care of and some of them have even been adopted.

As for Maria, she received physical therapy and has come to trust humans again. In addition to regaining her happiness, she regained the ability to use her hind legs and spends lots of time chasing her babies around.

Unfortunately, Maria is not the only pup that has suffered physical and emotional abuse. Thanks to the kindness of loving people, while Maria will not fully recover, she is growing stronger and happier everyday.
