Panicking Dog Wakes Up Family Right On Time To Rescue Their Baby’s Life

Back in 2012, Buddy the dog alerted his humans when he found their baby not breathing, saving the baby's life just in time.
The Brousseau family of Portland, Connecticut had no way of knowing that their decision to choose the pooch with the adorable little face would one day be a lifesaver.

One day the happy couple decided they had enough love in their hearts and their home to bring in a furry addition. As ABC News reported, they wanted a rescue dog, so they visited a shelter, and there he was. They found a dog that they absolutely fell in love with, and signed off on all the paperwork to bring him home.
Six years on, Buddy was well adjusted and the family's love for him only grew stronger. He wasn't simply a dog — he was a genuine part of the family. But then the Brosseaus welcomed another addition in the hearts and home of love, a beautiful little girl named Harper.

Buddy became a big furry brother and took his job as a guard very seriously. He loved Harper and would check on her often. It is perhaps due to his vigilance that one night, he noticed something was wrong. Very wrong.
He ran into his human parents' room and jumped on their bed to wake them up. This was highly unusual of Buddy and the Brousseau family knew that something was not right. Buddy jumped off the bed and led them to Harper's room. They made the frightening discovery that Harper was not breathing.
Nervous and scared, they got themselves together long enough to jump into their vehicle and rush Harper to the hospital. The medical staff immediately began to work on her, and after what felt like a lifetime to the Brousseaus, successfully resuscitated baby Harper.
They were told, however, had they arrived any later, that they probably would have had a different, unwanted outcome. The Brousseaus have had plenty of time to reflect upon what has happened to their family.
They feel blessed to have Duke and now know that their decision to adopt him was not by accident. It was destiny that brought them together, and it gives new meaning to "rescue dog." They saved Duke, and Duke saved Harper. He is their hero. And, he is free to jump on their bed at any time.
