'Pancake Boards' Are Favorite New Food Trend On Internet

First, there were cheese boards, and now there are pancake boards. While many professional chefs are loyal to the idea of food presentation through plating, Instagram chefs have changed it up by making pancake and breakfast boards. Whether the idea is seen as simply artsy or a more communal way of dining, the trend has been the internet's favorite new way to eat breakfast.

All over Instagram, influencers and chefs are making their own pancake boards with toppings and other breakfast items. This includes berries, syrup, bacon, eggs, among many other variations.

Instagram accounts such as thebakermama, everyday_tables, and reluctantentertainer have all posted their own renditions of the pancake board. They include a variety of ingredients that both pair with the pancakes, or simply go on top of them.

Some businesses, such as TheMerryTree, have also posted their own pancake boards. This breakfast is up for grabs with the caption:

"Valentines “Mate Date” at The MerryTree this Friday morning with our Special Pancake Sharing Board for 2 people €15.95 including 2 @mccabecoffee Coffees.
Like, Share & Tag a friend to win a Mate Date this Valentine’s Day"

What isn't to like about a breakfast that could easily be eaten in bed? These pancake boards can also be adjusted in size to make brunch parties even easier and certainly make for fewer dishes to wash.

The type of board used can also be a factor in the pancake board. From rustic to retro, with both dark and light colors, the background it adds to the breakfast foods affects the color depth and presentation.

Some versions even include waffles along with pancakes, so there's no need to choose between the two! Adding eggs or bacon, or both creates a breakfast combination that is sweet and savory.

Youtubers Trudilicious and azfamily powered by 3TV & CBS5AZ both take the time to highlight the pancake board trend and even offer some ways on how you can recreate the breakfast phenomenon yourself at home. Take a look at these videos if you want to try to make a pancake board, but aren't quite sure where to start.
